So there are a few ways I try to have a hot cup of tea during the day while juggling baby, crawling, chasing and feeding. Oh and I guess juggling the usual things like cleaning, washing and cooking. Yeah right, I don’t often manage the last three like I should, tea comes before them!
- Bumbo seat and a pile of toys I can plop on the tray
- Baby ball pit
- High chair – multitasking drinking tea while feeding H!
- Baby walker (or Jumperoo if you have one)
- Go for a walk until H falls asleep and then come home/go to coffee shop/supermarket for tea
- Drive to waitrose and let H fall asleep then get free tea!
This isn’t really a separate suggestion as it uses the ones above: ‘Hey Duggie’ or’ In the Night Garden’ work really well while in the high chair or bumbo.
Of course if baby is still quite little, then a bouncer chair or swing is fab!
Do you have any other suggestions? Any and every suggestion is welcome ?

July 31, 2015 at 7:46 pmMy toddler makes this impossible for me 🙁 but theyre great ideas for other mums with babies, oh how I love a cup of tea! I’ve managed to master it while they’re eating breakfast and having a TV session 🙂

July 31, 2015 at 8:47 pmThank you for reading and commenting. Yes I fear once she’s walking, crawling will be nothing! But in the meantime, these are working (when she’s in the right mood!) x

August 2, 2015 at 9:42 amThis is great haha. My girls are too old now to do those things 🙁 They constantly want me! If I feel stressed and just want 2 minutes to myself I just give them an ipad and they’re quiet for a bit!

August 2, 2015 at 10:42 amHaha! When there are two the sleep methods fail – one of them is ALWAYS awake! Though they will on occasion distract each other! Now baby is old enough to eat some finger foods on her own, when they are both eating is best chance! #sundaystars

August 2, 2015 at 1:24 pmI hate to be the barer of bad news but this will contiue when the little ones are older 🙁 My Agent M is 8 and i have been known to have to zap my cuppa in the microwave for a few seconds.
There is always the distraction on Lego i.e Can you build Mama a big monster with Lego aka can i have 5 minutes to enjoy this cuppa tea but you’ll have to help find the essential building piece, the phone will ring or you’ll need to load the washing machine and by the time you remember you made a cuppa, its stone cold.
The best thing i can suggest is Nap time now and their allotted tech time when they are older. Its the only chance you have for peace (cause you don’t exist as a parent when there is a minecraft game to play).

September 7, 2015 at 7:27 pmAh yes the bouncer seats and baby walkers were brilliant for managing to grab a couple of minutes to get a hot cup of coffee. These days I’m just used to drinking it lukewarm although I did manage a hot cuppa this morning when Jessica was at preschool as Sophie by some miracle decided to go down for a nap and sleep until it was nearly pick up time! Thermos mugs are a great idea for helping to keep your tea hot. #MaternityMondays

Wee Green Folk
February 17, 2016 at 9:04 pmMy 11 month old spent ages watching the washing machine earlier. Usually, that only interests her for a few minutes but my toddler had left some fridge magnets in reach and she had a whale of a time pulling them off and sticking them back on. My toddler was immobilised by Cbeebies and all was quiet!!!!

March 7, 2016 at 1:04 pmAll great ideas lovely! With all three of my kids it’s as if they had some radar that alerted them if I was about to sit down & have a cup of tea. They could be happily playing but as soon as I’d sit – they’d be in looking for something. It’s not easy. I think distraction is a good idea. Thanks so much for linking up with #bloggerclubuk x
