I was very kindly offered a new Babble Band to review by Summer Infant. Summer Infant also make out brilliant Ume One Stroller (review here), and so given that the sensor mat on our existing monitor had recently broken, I thought it sounded interesting?and very usable.
What is a babble band you ask? It’s a band you wear just like a watch. Instead of telling the time you can hear the baby monitor through it. It even has a vibrate option, and also lights flash when little one makes any noise. I’ve found it brilliant when doing the gardening, baking, making dinner and just doing regular tasks at home. It’s much easier than remembering to pick up the monitor when you move room, and SO convenient for the garden in summer. If you’ve been following me on Instagram you’ll have seen me wearing it over the last few weeks especially while gardening.
My Babble Band review:
When it arrived, I eagerly opened the box …
And found a monitor, watch, and plug adaptor. I love that it includes an adaptor for on holiday!
It’s such a brilliant design. All you need to do it pop the watch on top on the monitor to charge it! How cool is that? It all looks very futuristic, and so modern compared to other monitor base units I’ve seen.
Using the Babble Band
It’s very easy to use…
- Charge the watch fully by sitting it over the monitor!
- Wear the watch
- Press the button on the left to turn it on
- Use the buttons on the right to adjust volume/options
See, easy-peasy and so versatile!
Verdict: I thoroughly recommend the Babble Band, it’s easy to use and so useful. It makes doing everyday stuff easier as I don’t have to remember to pick up the monitor, or have it clipped on my pocket.
I definitely liked having a sensor mat when H was a baby (well, to be honest we’d still be using it if it hadn’t broken after 15 months and if Tommee Tippee hadn’t refused to fix it (we really thought they would be helpful!)).
What do you think? Would you find this more useful than a traditional monitor with a normal receiver??
Lynne x

Disclaimer: I was sent the Babble Band for my honest review. All opinions are honest, and my own!?

June 30, 2016 at 1:39 pmWhat a fab idea! I haven’t seen these but it’s definitely something I would have liked, being the neurotic mother that I am and all! We found we didn’t really use our baby monitors very much as they didn’t have a great range and I was never far enough away from the baby to not hear their cries, but this does look great! #bestandworst

July 1, 2016 at 2:29 pmWhat a fab idea. I know I would forget to carry the monitor around and have to keep going back for it. This is ideal as once it’s on, it’s on 🙂

July 3, 2016 at 6:46 pmThis is really nifty! Bit like wearing a Fitbit. I think it’s a great idea as you always have that worry nipping outside and missing the crying. May have to look into this. We had a baby sensor mat with the gremlin – definitely put our mind at rest!! Thanks for sharing with #bestandworst xx
