It’s been a good week, I had a lovely time with my sister last weekend which I had mentioned in my last happy list post and now we’ve had a lovely week with some sun! Spring is coming! Aren’t the flowers popping up just lovely and cheerful?
I’m very pleased to be seeing the physio next week so hopefully my hip will improve – I have very high expectations they will solve all my problems! I’ve been umming and ahhhing over trying a different pregnancy pillow as I have a straight 5ft one, perhaps a Dream Genii? Recommendations please??
So onto this week’s happy list…
1. Family get away
We had a night away just south of Bristol near Weston. The hotel was nice especially given we booked a couple of days before (the room on the small side but can’t be faulted!). It was around 15 minutes from the beach and had a pool – pretty much our criteria, which appeared hard to meet!
I did LOVE my Mamalicious padded coat, any uncertainty I had about its long length, were laid to rest as I was so snug in that crazy wind on the beach.
I can’t believe I’m now 27 weeks (26 weeks pregnant in photo).
H wasn’t too happy, snuggling into daddy, but made some sandcastles before quickly retreating to the car!
2. Swimming with daddy
I usually take H swimming as our class is when daddy is at work. But on our night away H had a brilliant time swimming between us and having a fabulous time swimming and jumping with daddy. I tried to show them things we do in class so when he has to take her he won’t be in the deep end!
3. Toddler H swimming on her own
Yes at 27 months H is swimming a good distance on her own with a woggle, with a bit of guidance from me when she steers into a lane rope!! I was so impressed at or swimming lesson on this week, as until now I’ve been just walking beside her letting her do it herself, and she could go a good distance but on Wednesday our lovely teacher suggested standing in front of her for her to swim to me. She did and kept going and going and going, it was amazing and she absolutely LOVED it! I wish I had it on video, especially when I struggled to run backward fast enough!
3. Sunshine
H and I both LOVED how sunny and warm it was on Thursday we spent most of the afternoon outside and it was lovely. Yes, it’s not relaxing as she wants me to do everything with her and swags me about, but luckily she did understand when I said I couldn’t fit down her slide!! She didn’t ask again 😂
4. Gardening
I’ve been picking up plants this week both in Asda (a few daffodils for £1!) and some discounted daffodils in B&Q for £1.50 to brighten up our front garden. H also ‘helped’ me plant some others I picked up the week before in Homebase – an Azelia. I’m now, one day and less than 24 hours later, thinking of moving it along the border and moving a bush plant from the back to that corner so that we have the height that I crave. There is loads of room to move it… just another example of my pregnancy brain at its best (it has been sat in that position for a week!)
5. Buggyboard success
We’ve been using the new Buggyboard on our stroller and it been a huge success, easy for me to get in and out of the boot and H loved it.
H even sat IN the pushchair when she was tired. I’ll gloss over the episode where she had downed her drink too fast again and promptly threw up all down her and partly me. If anyone has any tips for a good Toddler cup please PLEASE share!!
6. Teepee fun
It was a bit miserable yesterday so I finally made the teepee I’ve been meaning to for H. I’ve made her dens before and she’s LOVED them, snuggling down but promptly pulls them down after 5 minutes. Or, stands and tried to play peekaboo like she does in the teepee at playgroup. So a teepee was needed and the crafter in me couldn’t buy one, it just had to be made. I’ve written a step by step tutorial on how to make a toddler teepee here!
7. Nom Nom Snack pouches
I finally ordered a pack of four from Amazon, something I’ve been meaning to order for months, since they were launched! They’re brilliant, H loves them too and they’re so practical they fit in my handbag.
8. #RockingMummyLife – New Instagram Community
The lovely Fi from Beauty Baby and Me have launched a new Instagram community… #RockingMummyLife
We want to celebrate how amazing us mummies are, how our glass of wine (or cup of tea!) and the end of the day rocks, juggling all things us mummies do, a coffee break in a crazy day, and of course those gorgeous cuddles with your little ones that make it all better… We’re celebrating mummies and I’m so excited to see all the photos!
Here’s to next week and not having 3 bedtimes when daddy is out!
