If you haven’t heard of it, Marie Curie are running a new fundraising event that involved tea and cake in the form of a ‘The Blooming Great Tea Party‘, obviously something that’s right up my street.
The event runs from 23rd – 25th June, however we’ll be holding ours next week when I’ve had time to make a cake, now that Baby #2 is here.
There are loads of fab ideas on the Marie Curie website including recipes, although I think I’ll make a simple Victoria sponge or lemon drizzle cake most likely using my fail safe cake recipe which I also used for Toddler H’s Hey Duggee cake. On that note, I’m sure Toddler H will be eager to ‘help’, so we’ll probably end up with some kiddy cup cakes too, like those H and my mum made this week!
Marie Curie have loads of resources to help with your tea party, from print your own invitations and bunting to selfie props. It is also possible to sign up to receive a free fundraising pack to get your party going.
Just pop over to the Marie Curie website to find all of these resources – www.mariecurie.org.uk/teaparty
Anyway, I’m sure you all know what a fab cause Marie Curie is, they really help so many people at such a difficult time. Personally their nurses were a huge help to my granny 30+ years ago when my papa was alive. The stories shared both on the Marie Curie website and that I’ve personally heard over the years just do play on me. I do find I gravitate to wanting to help charities over others and Marie Curie is definitely one of those.
So, I hope I’ll see lots of fab Tea Party photos this weekend and next if you’re like me!
