Here are a few ideas if you’re struggling to think of a Mother’s Day gift (or even birthday or Christmas gift) for your mum or if you’ve tiny little ones, your other half…
1. An Emma Bridgewater Mummy mug
I had to choose one of these mummy Emma Bridgewater mugs as I just love this mug every time I see them pictures on Instagram.
The Emma Bridgewater site even has an outlet so you can get a ‘seconds’ one for £12.99.
2. MAMA sweatshirt
This has to be the other ‘in’ thing at the moment… a MAMA or Mother sweatshirt or T-shirt by Selfish Mother. I love these: simple designs and helping charity too.
3. Personalised frames
I’ve just designed this button frame myself and am starting to look into selling these frames starting next month.
Another of mine from our dining room wall, but I know these types of things are really popular for Mother’s Day too from local sellers to sites like Etsy and Not on the High Street.

4. Me time with a spa day or afternoon tea
Or go the whole hog and get her a spa day, afternoon, hour, treatment. Something to recharge. Or even afternoon tea – they’re always delicious!
5. Gorgeous planters
The supermarkets are full of gorgeous plants in planters. I really love a welly boot planter I saw in Asda. It would look perfect on any front door step.
6. Seeds
This is actually what H got me last year as a Mother’s Day gift, so I can’t take credit, it was hubby! I got a few boxes of seeds to plant in the garden which will come back every year. Some are popping up now and are gorgeous.
7. Bubbles (bath and alcohol!)
Both varieties, prosecco and bubble bath are sure fire winners from me! Maybe a candle too? And an hour for a lovely peaceful bath? That sounds like a very relaxing Mothers Day!
8. A book or two
Perhaps to go with the bubbles above, a book would be the finishing touch to relaxing? Maybe something by her favourite author or if you’re unsure, or she has them all, there’s always Hurrah for Gin‘s hilarity or one of The Unmumsy Mum‘s books. (both links are Amazon Affiliate links*)
9. Chocolates
Of course few chocolates don’t usually go amiss… (especially with my pregnancy cravings this time around!)
10. Flowers
Yes some might say it’s a cliche or “think of something new or novel”, but I like flowers and they are just so cheery, brightening a room. Especially tulips 💐
Have a lovely Mother’s Day and I hope these Mothers Day gift ideas help. I’d also love these for my birthday too!
