I’m back again for my reflections on the week… Those small happy moments among the tantrums, tiredness and I need coffee quests!
1. Daddy’s birthday
We had a lovely day this week celebrating daddy’s birthday. Burgers for lunch, soft play (aka coffee) and cake.
2. Baking
I always bake hubby a birthday cake, and this year, even with being a bit unwell at the weekend, I was looking forward to it. It is the first year H has been able to help. Two chocolate cakes later, and some cheat icing, and the cake was ready. H helped decorate it… What do you think? Not my usual precise placements, but I’m sure I’ll get her trained ?
3. Scooting
Yes, this new scooter is proving popular- everyday popular! I can’t complain, she’s burning off energy isn’t she?!
4. Baby kicks
I wrote about this this week, how this pregnancy is flying by. Doesn’t everyone with a toddler say that? Well it’s true, very very true! Even scarier is the realisation that we’re now over half way, especially as H was born a week early. Baby is kicking away, quite happy in there it seems, which is lovely to feel.
5. Toddler leaps
I must say, this stage of toddlerhood is quite fun, from scooting to running and playing with her friends. She gets so excited to see them, it’s very sweet. We also find her daily spouting of new words and copying what we say, hilarious and well, amazing. Sentences come thick and fast, as do descriptive words like “look a big blue van!”
6. Lovely toddler friends
H’s little friend S came to our music class this week desperate to give H a book. It was very cute, she’d put it in her mum’s bag to give to H. In true toddler cuteness (and they don’t forget anything, do they?!!), when they arrived, she had to give it to H straight away. It was ‘There is a house inside my mummy’ – a very cute book telling little ones about mummy having a house for baby in her tummy, mummy being tired and ending with baby being born. H seems quite excited now!
7. Organising & planning
I’ve spent some more time filling in my diary, trying to juggle when we should go on holiday before baby is born, and all the other stuff we have to do.
(I have a Stick to Stigu planner – and have a giveaway running now if you’d like to win one too)
8. Relief it’s the weekend
Friday afternoon proved a bit of a change in our week as H appears to have a cold, and even napped! She’s not napped in months. We’re having a relaxing, potter about the house weekend, which very much looking forward to.
Have a lovely weekend folks xx

January 21, 2017 at 11:28 pmI hope she’s starting to feel a bit better, I hate it when they’re poorly! I know people often moan about toddlers and yep they are slightly mad ha, but I love that age when everything is so new and exciting to them and they can show it. They also develop their characters so much 🙂
