The weather is forecast to get colder… maybe it’ll happen, maybe it won’t, but it’s got me looking at snuggly warm jackets and coats again. Jack Wolfskin have many jackets that fit this bill, and they’ve been a brand I’ve browsed many many a time over the last year or so, when I’ve been feeling that itch for a new jacket so was thrilled when Simply Hike emailed to collaborate. They sell everything hiking related from tents to clothing and everything in between.
Simply Hike have some really amazing offers on jackets from all brand- padded jackets and waterproof jackets as well as fleeces and soft shells. I’ve popped some of my favourite Jack Wolfskin jackets below.
I love this padded insulated jacket, it’s perfect for all occasions and I can really see myself wearing it on the school run, and on our family walks. We always enjoy days out at the weekend and this would also be perfect for visits to Slimbridge where we seem to have a knack for timing trips with rain or wind!
The jacket above is the Women’s Selenium Down Jacket which is waterproof and windproof, it has waterproof repellant fabric, a detachable adjustable hood, 2 hip pockets, soft touch fabric, an adjustable hem and articulated elbows. It also has fast drying Microguard filling.
However, this the Jack Wolfskin Svalbard coat is longer length and looks brilliant for days when the wind and rain are battering down.
This coat has similar features to the jacket above, water proof, windproof, water repellant and Stormtech and Microguard.
Update! I’ve just been having another browse and spotted some other lovely jackets perfect for the school run, outdoor walks and family days out... This seems a classic style and navy, is obviously a very classic timeless colour.
I also just spotted this and love it, yellow is such an in colour at the moment! I do love this but wonder if I’ll get board of it?
I am definitely airing towards the first shorter length padded jacket as it’s the one I always, always, come back to. I’ve already got a knee length coat, and am more after a snuggly warm jacket.
I think it would be perfectly suited to all occasions, school run, popping to the shops and those icy cold days you just want to be snug under a blanket taking full advantage of the current hygge trend. At weekends we’re always off on afternoon walks and we usually pop up one of the local hills – Leckhampton is our current favourite as it’s only 10-15 minutes to get there. It’s a far cry from the walks I grew up doing, which usually involved Munro or my dad’s 50th birthday trip which was walking the Great Glen Way. Anyway, as I also spent many many many months in the outdoors studying geology I also know that it’s best to be prepared and a good waterproof and windproof jacket is essential. Layers usually work best too. So, why have I been browsing the Jack Wolfskin pages? Well they fit this bill to a tee but also look fab on the preschool run.
Jack Wolfskin jackets are waterproof and windproof often featuring water-repellant fabrics and quite a few pockets. For instance Stormlock products are “100% windproof, water repellent and breathable,” and Microguard products are “fast-drying synthetic loose fibrefill insulation with a stable loft and a high level of heat retention.”
Which would you choose?
